Privacy notice
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This notice covers the personal information you give Epoxy Flooring Durban through this website. It is written to meet section 18 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), which says you should know what we collect and what happens to it before you hand it over.
Who is responsible for your information
Epoxy Flooring Durban is the responsible party for information sent through this site. The quickest way to reach us about anything in this notice is the contact form. Say that your message is about privacy and it will be dealt with as a privacy request.
What the forms ask for
Quote form and pop-up: your name and a South African mobile number, which we need to reply, plus an optional email address. You can also tell us your suburb, the kind of floor you want, a rough floor area, when you would like the work done and anything else about the space.
Contact form: your name, email address and message, which we need to reply. A phone number, a subject and a floor size are optional.
With each form we also record the page you sent it from and the time it arrived, and the contact form also notes your browser type. Giving us any of this is voluntary. If you leave out the required fields, the form will not send and we have no way to answer you.
Why we use it
- To reply to you, arrange a visit to the floor and prepare a written quote.
- To carry out the work if you go ahead.
- To spot the same request sent twice within a day, so you are not contacted twice.
- To keep a record of what was asked and what was quoted.
We rely on two grounds in section 11 of POPIA: the consent you give when you tick the box on the quote form, and the fact that the processing is needed for steps you asked us to take towards an agreement for the work. We do not use your details for marketing.
Where it is stored
A submitted form is saved in a secure online database and sent by email to the inbox we use for enquiries. The site and its forms run on Cloudflare, the database is hosted by Supabase, and the notification emails are delivered by Resend. These companies act as operators for us: they process the information so the site works, and do not use it for their own purposes.
Some of these services process information on servers outside South Africa. Section 72 of POPIA allows that where the transfer is needed for steps taken at your request before an agreement, which is what answering a quote request is.
Who else sees your details
Site visits and the flooring work itself are carried out by our appointed installation contractor, working on our behalf. To do that job, the contractor receives your enquiry details, including your name, number and suburb. They are passed to the one installer appointed to your job, never to a list of companies, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
Visitor statistics and cookies
This site is set up for Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits and show us which pages people read, in aggregate. Its advertising and personalisation features are switched off. If a call button is shown on the site and you tap it, we log the tap together with your browser type and a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, which tells us a tap happened without storing the address itself.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any job that follows, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records such as invoices. After that they are deleted or stripped of anything that identifies you, as section 14 of POPIA requires.
Keeping it safe
Forms are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to the database and the enquiry inbox is limited to the people handling your request. If we have reason to believe your information has been accessed by someone who should not have it, we will tell you and the Information Regulator, as section 22 of POPIA requires.
Your rights
- Ask whether we hold information about you, and for a copy of it (section 23).
- Ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, out of date or no longer needed (section 24).
- Withdraw your consent, or object to the processing, at any time (section 11).
- Complain to the Information Regulator if you are unhappy with how we handled your information.
To use any of these, send a request through the same contact form mentioned above and tell us which form you used and roughly when, so we can find your record.
